MALLO DI NOCE
The Husk is the fleshy part that surrounds the seed of the Walnut, a tree of the Juglandaceae family
HOW TO USE: Mix the walnut husk powder with hot water, until you get the consistency of a yogurt. Cover the container and let it sit for 15 minutes.
Hair: In addition to its dyeing properties, it has a sebum-regulating action and makes the hair thicker and shinier. Apply the paste on dry or damp hair and keep it on for at least 60 minutes and up to 2 hours, depending on the intensity of the color you want to obtain. Rinse thoroughly, only if necessary make a diluted shampoo. Apply a balsam nut if the hair is dry and carry out a final rinse with water and vinegar to keep the hair shiny and soft and ensure a longer lasting color.
DYEING NOTES: Warm brown reflective, if used alone the dyeing power of Walnut husk is not very high and is not long lasting; for this reason it can be mixed with Henna to obtain a chestnut color or with Henna and Indigo for a darker brown. If used on light hair or in dye mixes dedicated to blond tones, it gives a color ranging from ash blonde to light brown. On brown or dark hair it enhances the warm highlights. Useful to dampen the orange tone of Henna and obtain a warmer coppery instead.
Skin: It has antibacterial and antifungal action, promotes cell renewal and can be used to create a tanning oleolite that also protects hair from the sun. To prepare the oil, macerate 10 g of Walnut husk in 100 ml of sesame oil for 10 days in a closed glass jar. Shake once a day.
